Topping The Trends: A Velour Tracksuit
Trends come in and out of fashion with today’s retail system but if an item is extremely popular it will become a wardrobe staple. Denim jeans are the most notable trend turned staple in recent decades. The newest trend which is proving that it has staying power is the velour tracksuit.
The velour tracksuit seems to be staying put in stores unlike other trends. For the past few years there have been variations on the velour tracksuit in every major high street shop. Two years on the fashion scene is an age in modern styling.
Celebrities started wearing velour tracksuits first. Britney Spears used pink velour tracksuits for her bridesmaids in her wedding to K-Fed. Then footballer’s wives took on the trend during international competitions.
Now everyone likes velour tracksuits, from high street to designer. They combine comfort and style which makes them a favourite. It is important however that if you are going to wear a velour tracksuit you buy one that is made out of good quality material. You do not want it to shrink or get too big when it is washed. Also; you do not want the colour to fade during washing. You will look cheap rather than fashionable if the quality is poor.
If you do not want to look like mutton dressed as lamb, adults should stick to darker colours. Definitely stay away from bright pinks and greens. Flattering colours include black, brown and navy.
Bright colours look super on children though. Some parents struggle with finding clothes for their daughters which are comfy and practical whilst being stylish. With a velour tracksuit you combine all three. Children like wearing them because they are so easy to pull on and get off before and after swimming and other popular activities.
So with this in mind, take a look at tracksuits offered by different retailers. You will find some awful ones and the odd gem. If they specialise in velour clothing you are on to a winner. Make sure that you do not get overcharged for the tracksuit,
