You have probably heard whispers of it, maybe even caught a brief sight of it yourself. Countless video sites on the web are just now getting it off the ground. Video is literally taking over the internet. A few years ago, online videos were few and far between, but now they’re more common than colored lights at Christmas, and internet video marketing is the blossoming new business that’s rolling out of the station on that particular freight train. Small businesses are hitching a ride as well, because for almost no investment, with the properly presented message, they can launch their products around the world in the blink of an eye.
Exactly right now, the elevator is on the ground floor, time to rush on. People are tired of opening their online junk mail. The idea isn’t new. In fact, it’s been around for about 20 years, but most of the video you come across online is still of individual web surfers clowning around or blabbering on about nothing at all.
The fact that e-mail has become so mainstream has essentially deadened its impact as a forum for advertising. People don’t even notice the ads that wait for them in their inboxes. We’re so used to having them incessantly around that they have become like faces, passing in a crowd, instantly forgettable. We simply come across too many new faces in any given day to process almost any of them at all.
E-mail is actually the bad guy in this story. People just blow through it, ignoring the marketing spam, deleting it without giving it the time of day.
Electronic mail just isn’t fun anymore. It’s so full of spam that, nowadays, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who gets excited when they see 37 new messages in their inbox.
Now, imagine you’re an internet marketer. You have an honest message that people will want to read. How are you going to get it to them if the spam filter on their inboxes just sweeps your e-mail away with all the trash?
But internet video marketing is paving the new road to success. For your business, it would be child’s play to have your products or services hitch a ride.
There are hundreds of free sites out there, waiting for you to come along and post your customized product video, or you could just do it yourself on your own site. You’ll already be jumping light-years ahead of the competition.
If your target market is under 40, you’ve got it made. Gen. X’s and their successors are eating up online video, and internet video marketing is absolutely exploding. Take advantage of it, and send a brilliant visual message to your target audience that a flat old e-mail could never convey!
